Brett Favre will start next Saturday against the Washington Redskins in their preseason home opener next Saturday. More than 7,000 fans showed up for Favre’s first practice with the Jets.
Brett Favre sounded ready to move past all the hoopla and get back to work on the football field. He stated, “The pressure is just building. The attention I’ve gotten since I’ve been here has been overwhelming. The bottom line, as we all know, is to win games. That’s what I’m here to do.”
Brett Favre continued to state, “I have to get a lot done in a short amount of time. They wouldn’t have signed me if they didn’t think I could do that.”
The Jets have taken a back seat to the Giants since they won Super Bowl XLII. Favre is part of rebuilding the Jets. He wants to enjoy this year because the future is now and he doesn’t have 17 more years to play.
Favre stated, “I want to give the New York Jets and the people of this city the best year possible. Believe me.”
